About the Department

The B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is a four-year (eight-semester) undergraduate program designed to meet the evolving demands of industry and technological innovation, following an Outcome-Based Competency-Focused Curriculum (OBCFC) that ensures the development of measurable technical competencies, professional skills, and real-world problem-solving abilities. The curriculum provides a strong foundation in core areas such as programming, data structures, algorithms, databases, operating systems, computer networks, and system design, reinforced through experiential learning approaches including design-based courses, mini projects, capstone projects, industry internships, and hackathons.

Students may further personalize and strengthen their learning through a wide range of Minor programs, including Smart Systems, Immersive Game Design and Development, Business Systems, Software Product Development, Artificial Intelligence & Futuristic Technologies, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Cyber Security, iOS Application Development, Data Engineering, Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence for Data Science, Data Analytics, Full Stack Development, AI in Autonomous Systems, Blockchain Technologies, Internet of Things (IoT), and DevOps, enabling focused expertise in emerging and industry-relevant domains. The program is supported by state-of-the-art laboratories, early and structured internship opportunities through Centres of Excellence, corporate mentorship by industry professionals, access to global industry certifications, and a hybrid learning model that blends classroom instruction with curated online learning, preparing graduates for careers in software engineering, data science, cybersecurity, system design, technology consulting, higher studies, research, and innovation-driven entrepreneurship.

The curriculum covers core areas such as management, accounting, economics, marketing, finance, and organisational behaviour, giving students a well-rounded understanding of business operations.

Course content is regularly updated to reflect current business practices, digital transformation, entrepreneurship, sustainability, and global market dynamics.

Students learn through live projects, case studies, simulations, internships, presentations, and group assignments that mirror real business scenarios and decision-making environments.

The department focuses on building communication, analytical thinking, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills essential for early-career success.

Digital tools, business software, analytics platforms, and online resources are integrated into learning to prepare students for technology-driven workplaces.

Regular interactions with industry experts, alumni talks, workshops, and guest lectures provide practical insights, career exposure, and professional networking opportunities.
