BTech in Computer Science and Engineering – Cyber Security

Designed to address the soaring global demand for skilled cybersecurity professionals, this program offers in-depth technical and practical expertise through immersive hands-on labs, real-world projects, and industry-driven case studies. Students build proficiency in key areas including ethical hacking, network defense, digital forensics, cryptography, SOC analysis, penetration testing, AI in cybersecurity, and secure software development.

PSO (Program Specific Outcomes)

PSO 1: To design, implement, and optimize intelligent, secure, and scalable computing solutions by integrating emerging technologies.

PSO 2: To apply computational thinking and interdisciplinary knowledge to develop innovative, ethical, and sustainable technology solutions that address real- world societal and industrial challenges.

PSO 3: To deploy security applications to protect organizational data and assets, to reduce cyber threats, and apply suitable cryptographic methods for different needs.

PO (Program Outcomes)

PO 1. Engineering Knowledge: Apply knowledge of mathematics, natural science, computing, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization as specified in WK1 to WK4 respectively to develop to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO 2. Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions with consideration for sustainable development. (WK1 to WK4)

PO 3. Design/Development of Solutions: Design creative solutions for complex engineering problems and design/develop systems/components/processes to meet identified needs with consideration for the public health and safety, whole-life cost, net zero carbon, culture, society and environment as required. (WK5)

PO 4. Conduct Investigations of Complex Problems: Conduct investigations of complex engineering problems using research-based knowledge including design of experiments, modelling, analysis & interpretation of data to provide valid conclusions. (WK8).

PO 5. Engineering Tool Usage: Create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern engineering & IT tools, including prediction and modelling recognizing their limitations to solve complex engineering problems. (WK2 and WK6)

PO 6. The Engineer and The World: Analyze and evaluate societal and environmental aspects while solving complex engineering problems for its impact on sustainability with reference to economy, health, safety, legal framework, culture and environment. (WK1, WK5, and WK7).

We offers a flexible Open Elective framework that enables students to broaden their academic horizons beyond their core and minor disciplines. The Open Electives are designed to promote interdisciplinary learning, global exposure, and holistic skill development, empowering students to explore diverse domains aligned with their personal interests and career aspirations.
We provides two categories of Open Electives, allowing students to choose courses either across disciplines or to develop language and cultural proficiency.
Category I: Interdisciplinary Open Electives (from Other Schools)
Students may choose Open Elective courses offered by other Schools of Alliance University, including Business, Law, Liberal Arts, and Performing Arts. These courses expose learners to diverse perspectives and complementary skill sets such as management thinking, legal awareness, creative expression, entrepreneurship, and communication.

Independent Study

The Course of Independent Study course allows students to explore emerging technologies and research areas, designing and implementing innovative, real-world solutions. Projects develop technical, creative, and problem-solving skills, with opportunities for publications, patents, and portfolio-ready outcomes.

Activity Points

The Activity Points Program is designed to encourage involvement in co-curricular, extracurricular, and community activities beyond academics. It helps students develop valuable life skills, explore interests, and make the most of their time at the institute. Students must earn a minimum of 100 Activity Points per semester from Semester 1 to Semester 6 by participating in approved activities such as clubs, cultural events, sports, and community service. Maintaining a qualifying grade in Activity Points is mandatory for successful completion of the academic program, with a total requirement of 600 points.

Eligibility Criteria

For Regular

10+2 from recognized Board / Council with Minimum 50% marks in Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Technical Vocational Subject.
Score in JEE (Main); JEE (Advanced); Karnataka CET; COMED-K; AUEET (Alliance Undergraduate Engineering Entrance Test); or any other State-Level engineering entrance examination.

For Lateral Entry

Passed Diploma examination with at least 50% marks in relevant branch of Engineering and Technology.
Passed B. Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 50% marks & passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics as a subject.
A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC / ST.
