About the Department

The Department  plays a foundational role in shaping the scientific and analytical mindset of students across disciplines. With a strong emphasis on both fundamental principles and real-world applications, it serves as a cornerstone of the University’s science and engineering education. The Department fosters a vibrant research culture, producing high-impact publications and pursuing cutting-edge investigations in several frontiers of Chemistry, Physics & Applied Mathematics. By cultivating curiosity, critical thinking, and hands-on exploration, the Department nurtures the next generation of chemists, physicists & mathematicians, inspiring them to engage deeply with the laws of nature and advance our understanding of the universe.

The Department of Performing Arts nurtures students to understand performance not only as talent, but as discipline, storytelling, emotion, technique, and cultural memory.

Students develop foundational skills across areas such as theatre, dance, music, movement, voice work, stagecraft, improvisation, and performance practice.

The department encourages learning through rehearsals, productions, workshops, performances, critiques, and collaborative creative processes.

Students explore how performing arts reflect tradition, identity, society, history, and modern life, while also discovering new ways of presenting stories to today’s audiences.

Graduates can pursue opportunities in theatre, dance, music, direction, choreography, performance, arts education, cultural programming, event curation, media, and creative entrepreneurship.
